Amy Adams to be honoured at Palm Springs International Film Festival

Actress Amy Adams will receive the Chairman’s Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival next month (Jan17).
The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star will be feted for her performance in Arrival at the Film Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center on 2 January (17).
“Throughout her career, Amy Adams has continually challenged herself with complex roles,” PSIFF chairman Harold Matzner says. “This is reaffirmed in her most recent project, Arrival, where she anchors the film with an award-winning performance as a prominent linguist, Dr. Louise Banks, as she attempts to communicate with creatures in one of a dozen spacecrafts that visit Earth.”
Adams has been feted at the festival in the past – in 2009, she received the Spotlight Award for her role in Doubt, while she was also honoured alongside her American Hustle castmates with the Ensemble Performance Award in 2014.
Previous recipients of the Chairman’s Award include Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon.
