Andy Murray bashed in the face by overzealous fan

Tennis champion Andy Murray was left nursing an off-court injury after he was bashed in the face by an overzealous fan as he left a London restaurant on Monday (08Jul13). The sports star, who became the first Brit to win the Wimbledon Men’s Final in 77 years on Sunday (07Jul13), was leaving a celebratory dinner at upscale eaterie Nobu with his girlfriend Kim Sears when he ended up in the middle of a scuffle between an autograph hunter and security guards.
The unidentified well-wisher tried to push past the guard and a scrum of photographers to obtain Murray’s signature, but ended up shoving a programme directly into the 26 year old’s face.
Murray was pictured holding his hands up to his head and wincing in pain, before getting into his car and making a swift exit with Sears.
