The drama saw off competition from Argo, Django Unchained, Les Miserables and Lincoln to win best production design in a period film during the 17th annual ceremony in Los Angeles.

Accepting the award, designer Sarah Greenwood, who has worked on various projects with the movie’s director Joe Wright for eight years, thanked the filmmaker for his “mad visions” and inviting her to be part of his team.

Ang Lee’s Life of Pi won in the fantasy film category, while James Bond epic Skyfall was celebrated in the contemporary genre.
