Annie heading back to Broadway

The last full production of the popular show closed in the Big Apple in 1997 and with the exception of a small touring production gracing Madison Square Garden in 2006, the lovable orphan has been absent from the New York stage for more than a decade.

Now the original team behind the stage show hit is preparing to reunite to give Annie a modern make-over for a new production.

Producer Arielle Tepper Madover has acquired the rights to the show, and has persuaded composer Charles Strouse, lyricist Martin Charnin and book writer Thomas Meehan to take another look at the material and consider updating it, according to
