Arquette family celebrate sister Alexis’ life at Los Angeles memorial

Tragic actress and transgender activist Alexis Arquette was remembered by family and friends at a memorial in Los Angeles on Wednesday (26Oct16).
David, Rosanna, Patricia and Richmond Arquette joined the late star’s pals at the California Science Center for the get together, which sources tell People.com was “a lovely celebration”.
The siblings each spoke at the event and Rosanna showed a film she had produced about her sister’s “film world”
“They shared very loving memories and they shared home movies and photographs,” said the source. “They are a very tight family and it was so wonderful to see the unity amidst the many personalities in and around that family.”
The memorial was the second that have been held for Arquette – drag performer Shan Ibrahim organised a ‘celebration of life’ party at the Pig n’ Whistle pub and restaurant in Hollywood on 18 September (16).
Alexis was surrounded by her brothers and sisters when she died in September (16). A funeral was not planned and the family was instructed to cremate her remains and scatter her ashes at sea, according to pal Rhea Litre.
The actress had battled a bacterial infection of her heart three weeks prior to her death, and had also been suffering from the effects of HIV for 29 years, according to a death certificate obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
Born Robert Alexis Arquette in 1969, she made her movie debut in Last Exit to Brooklyn, playing a transvestite named Georgette. She also appeared in the films Pulp Fiction, She’s All That, Blended, The Wedding Singer, and Bride of Chucky.
Alexis made her transition in 2006.
