HOLLYWOOD, April 02, 2001 — Ashley Judd will need to sharpen her claws now that she has signed to play the Catwoman, a Batman-themed film rapidly being developed at Warner Bros., Reuters reports.
In addition to Catwoman, because the previous four Batman movies were extremely lucrative, WB plans to film two more Batfilms: a live- action prequel to be directed by Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream) and a futuristic animated version based on the WB Network cartoon Batman Beyond.
According to reports in Variety, newcomer John Rogers will be the scriptwriter for the Catwoman film, with Darren Aronofsky and Boaz Yakin working on the Batman prequel and sequel, respectively.
Judd is next set to co-star with Sandra Bullock and Ellen Burstyn in the Callie Khouri-directed The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood.
