Dancing With The Stars professionals Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd reportedly experienced a security scare early on Tuesday (25Apr17) after an attempted break-in at their Los Angeles home.

Maksim’s partner, actress Heather Morris who was voted off the show on Monday night (24Apr17), shared the news during a solo appearance on Good Morning America on Tuesday.

The former Glee star was asked to shed a little light on the “personal emergency” which prompted Maksim to skip the TV chat, and she explained, “They had some sort of run-in with some man near their house trying to break in, but the police were there. They took care of it. So they’re safe and Peta’s OK. That’s the most important thing.”

Further details have yet to be revealed, and the engaged dancers, who are new parents to 16-week old baby son Shai, have not personally commented on the incident.

Heather and Maksim’s departure from the reality TV contest came as a shock to viewers, as they had wowed with their rumba to TLC’s Waterfalls. The pair became the first of the season’s dancing couples to score a maximum 40 points from the judges.

Despite the high praise, the perfect score was not enough to save them from the public vote, and after the surprise exit, Heather insisted she was “OK” with the result.

“It’s a hard competition and I’m really happy that I got to do exactly what I got to do,” she said. “It was very, very fun.”
