Awkwafina signs on for possible Constance Verity franchise

Awkwafina has landed what could be her first film franchise after signing on to star in the film adaptation of A. Lee Martinez’s Constance Verity fantasy adventure books.
The Ocean’s 8 star will play the title character in The Last Adventure of Constance Verity.
Martinez’s follow-up, Constance Verity Saves the World, was released last summer (18), and the writer is working on a third novel.
Awkwafina has become one of Hollywood’s most in-demand names following the success of Ocean’s 8 and Crazy Rich Asians – she will star in Disney’s upcoming Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Jumanji: The Next Level, as well as The Prom, opposite Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, and she’s also part of the cast for director Rob Marshall’s The Little Mermaid live-action remake.
