Barbra Streisand staged her last tour to buy painting

Barbra Streisand has revealed her most recent tour was arranged in part so she could buy a Modigliani painting.
The beloved diva insists she may never tour again and only hit the stage one last time to score a piece of art she coveted.
“I love buying paintings,” she tells Billboard. “I love being able to afford them and that’s kind of the reason I did this little tour. For a painting… It’s by Modigliani.
“It’s now hanging in the Tate Museum for a show in London. I had to say goodbye to it… and they just sent me a picture today of it hanging in the Tate.”
Promoting her upcoming Netflix special, Barbra: The Music… the Mem’ries… the Magic!, on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (21Nov17), Streisand confirmed she had retired from touring.
“It takes about three months to prepare a show… and I don’t enjoy performing,” she said. “I always have a bit of stagefright and it’s not a comfortable feeling.
“This (special) is great… because, for, like, $10 a month, the whole family can see any show and I don’t have to perform it.”
But Barbra insists she still wants to make records and perhaps return to directing movies.
