Beauty and the Beast continues U.K. box office chart domination

Beauty And The Beast maintained its reign over the U.K. box office chart over the weekend (24-26Mar17).
The Disney live-action remake, starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in the title roles, broke a series of records in the U.K. on its opening weekend with takings of $24.7 million (£19.7 million), and it continued to be a commercial success in its second consecutive week with impressive earnings of $15 million (£12.3 million).
Its closest competitor, the Power Rangers reboot, debuted in second, millions behind Beauty and the Beast, with takings of $1.9 million (£1.5 million). Jordan Peele’s horror comedy Get Out remained in third with $1.6 million (£1.3 million) while Kong: Skull Island dropped to fourth with $1.4 million (£1.1 million).
Hugh Jackman’s last Wolverine outing Logan rounded out the top five with $880,000 (£700,000).
