Behati Prinsloo has detailed how she fell in love with her husband Adam Levine “over email”.
The Namibian model and the Maroon 5 frontman began dating in mid-2012 and wed in a ceremony in Mexico two years later.
Now, in a new interview with PorterEdit, Behati has described how a mutual friend had introduced them via email, after finding out that Adam was looking for someone to appear in a music video.
“Our friend was like, ‘You should meet Behati because she’s a total tomboy and down for anything,’ so he emailed me asking if I could do it. I ended up not doing it, but we kept emailing each other. It was such a natural correspondence that we kind of fell in love over email,” she recalled. “A month later, I went to L.A. for a job, and that was the first time we met in person. I remember walking in: I opened the door, and it was the classic moment where the light shines into the dark studio and everyone turned to look at me. He had boxing gloves on and he came to hug me – it was so awkward.
Then he took me for dinner and we talked for hours and had the best time. It was love at first sight, it was crazy.”
After dating briefly, Behati and Adam, 39, broke up. But they quickly realized they had made the “worst decision” and got back together. The stars are now parents to two daughters – Dusty Rose, two, and 10-month-old Gio Grace – and during the chat, the 30-year-old also opened up about pregnancy and motherhood, and shared that she experienced a rough patch following the birth of Dusty in 2016.
“After my first baby, I had a little postpartum depression and it was difficult to get back into normal life, but after the second one everything felt so much easier; it was easier for me to workout, breastfeeding was easier,” the blonde beauty said.
Behati went on to explain that she “really liked” being pregnant and put no pressure on herself to dive straight back into work following the birth of each of her girls.
