Beyonce and Jay-Z Celebrate Blue Ivy’s Birthday with Blue Freestyling

Beyonce and Jay-Z have celebrated their daughter Blue Ivy’s sixth birthday by releasing an animated short of her performing a rap from his new album.

The clip, which debuted on Jay’s Tidal streaming service on his first-born’s birthday on Sunday (07Jan17), features an animated version of his daughter preparing to ballet dance on stage at a talent show.

However, when Blue performs, she launches into her verse from the track Blue’s Freestyle/We Family, which appeared on his recent record 4:44.

Jay, 48, Beyonce, 36, and their seven-month-old twins Sir and Rumi also feature in the clip, with the former appearing as proud parents shocked and then pleased by their daughter’s decision to turn from ballerina to rapper.

The track was first released last year, with Blue rapping the lyrics: “Everything, everything is my only single thing/ Everything I hear is my answer…I never hear that/ I be in the posse/ Never seen a ceiling in my whole life. Boom shakalaka/ Boom shakalaka/ Everything in shaka/ Everything in faka.”

Blue’s Freestyle/We Family rap isn’t the first time she has featured in her parents’ recordings, as while still just a newborn she appeared on Jay’s 2012 tribute to her, Glory, while in 2013 she was heard on her mother’s own tribute Blue.

The six-year-old also appears in the new video for Jay’s track Family Feud, which was directed by Ava DuVernay and features appearances from Beyonce and a host of Hollywood stars including Michael B. Jordan, Thandie Newton and Jessica Chastain.

The Formation singer and her husband, real name Shawn Carter, became parents for the second and third time last year (17) after she gave birth to their twins.
