Beyonce and JAY-Z’s New Home at Center of Contractor’s Lawsuit

The property recently purchased by Beyonce and Jay-Z in Bel-Air, California is at the center of a legal spat between its real estate developers and its contractor.

Dean McKillen and Cuesta Estate bosses have been accused of failing to pay workers at Qwest Engineering for completing extensive work on the house before the superstars were sold the mansion, and now they are suing to settle the dispute.

According to court papers obtained by TMZ.com, Qwest Engineering officials were hired to excavate space for a future basement, among other projects, on the property and managed to wrap up the work in less than six weeks so the defendants could secure the high-profile sale.

They are demanding what they claim are outstanding fees of just over $205,300, as well as damages.

McKillen has since told TMZ the lawsuit is bogus, and is adamant Qwest Engineering chiefs are not owed such a sum.

The Bel-Air pad, which Beyonce and JAY-Z are said to have bought for $88 million earlier this year (17), reportedly boasts eight bedrooms and 11 bathrooms with a recording studio, basketball court, and a spa. It had previously been listed for $130 million.
