Beyonce had big dreams to win a Best Actress Oscar when she appeared in Austin Powers romp

Beyonce has been dreaming of Oscar glory ever since she made her movie debut in Austin Powers In Goldmember 17 years ago.
Her co-star, Michael Caine, has opened up about a chat he had with the singer on set, when he asked about her goals.
“I knew she was a singer and had a group,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I asked her one day, ‘What do you want to do with your life, Be-yons?’ And she said, ‘I want to win the Academy Award for acting’.
“She was very good in the movie, a very competent actress, and I thought she could get somewhere with this. She’s gone far beyond my world. She’s so big now.”
Ironically, she was billed to star in Clint Eastwood’s A Star is Born remake but had to step down when she fell pregnant with twins. Eastwood subsequently abandoned the project and Bradley Cooper took over as director and star, recruiting Lady Gaga to play his onscreen love interest.
Gaga was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar when the nods were announced on Tuesday (22Jan19).
