Bill Cosby’s TV dad dead at 91

Emmy-nominated The Cosby Show star Earl Hyman has died, aged 91.
The actor died on Friday (17Nov17) at the Lillian Booth Actors Home in Englewood, New Jersey.
An acclaimed Shakespearean actor, Hyman was best known for portraying the father of Bill Cosby’s character Dr. Cliff Huxtable in The Cosby Show.
He picked up an Emmy nod for the role in 1986.
On Broadway, he picked up a Tony Award nomination for his 1980 role in Edward Albee’s The Lady From Dubuque. He made his last appearance on the New York stage in a 2009 production of Anton Chekhov’s Three Sisters.
