Bill Murray opens second Caddyshack-themed restaurant

Actor Bill Murray and his brothers have opened a second Caddyshack-themed restaurant in their home state of Illinois.
The Ghostbusters star and his siblings Ed, Brian, Joel, Andy, and John are already the owners of Murray Bros. Caddyshack restaurant and bar at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida. The sports bar, inspired by Bill’s 1980 film of the same name, opened in 2001.
On Tuesday (17Apr18), the Murray brothers, who were inducted into the Western Golf Association’s Caddie Hall of Fame in 2015, officially launched their new location in Rosemont in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The restaurant’s motto is, “Eat, Drink and be Murray,” and it features family pictures and movie memorabilia on its walls.
“The fact that it is called Caddyshack means it has something to do with golf,” Murray said at the restaurant’s opening. “That feeling of casual fun.”
Murray played oddball, gopher-obsessed golf course greenskeeper Carl Spackler in comedy Caddyshack.
