Billy Crystal returning to TV with new comedy

Billy Crystal is heading back to the small screen for a new comedy show. The When Harry Met Sally… star made his name on TV, landing his big break on sitcom Soap before becoming a Saturday Night Live regular in 1984.
He went on to carve out a successful movie career, but he will return to his roots in new scripted show The Comedians.
Crystal will play an ageing superstar stand-up who is forced to team up with a contemporary comedian for a late-night TV show.
John Landgraf, president of FX Entertainment, says, “It truly is an honour to be in business with Billy Crystal and (writer) Larry Charles, two of the all-time greats in comedy. We’re incredibly excited about this project.”
