The Hollywood stars, who met on the set of The Green Lantern, held a low-key ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation in Mount Pleasant – where romantic epic The Notebook was filmed – earlier this month (Sep12).
Guests included the actress’ Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera and Alexis Bledel, while Florence Welch performed at the reception, but it appears the nuptials were just for show – and perhaps to dupe tabloid editors into thinking the couple had wed in secret.
Paperwork filed at the local Charleston County Probate Court show Lively and Reynolds only applied to wed last Thursday (13Sep12) and they officially list their marriage date as 14 September (12), according to UsMagazine.com.
The newlyweds then headed to a tiny town in Virginia – with a population of just 150 – for a ‘mini-honeymoon’ before heading back to New York City, where Lively returned to work on Gossip Girl.
