Blood, Sweat & Tears drummer loses home in fire

Blood, Sweat & Tears drummer Dylan Elise lost all his possessions after his home was gutted by fire.
The New Zealand musician, who joined the legendary American jazz-rock band last year (15), posted a message on his Facebook page on Tuesday (30Aug16), revealing the house he shared with two others in Boston, Massachusetts had been destroyed.
In the post, which was accompanied by pictures of a house entirely gutted by the blaze, he revealed he had lost all of his possessions, including his drum kit, worth $30,000 (£22,887).
“As some of you may know a couple days ago while on tour in California with Blood, Sweat & Tears, my house in Boston burned to the ground,” Dylan wrote.
“We don’t know what caused the fire yet but thankfully no one was hurt!! Although, me and the 2 guys I live with lost everything and this was their family home of 20 years so this is especially devastating for them. Sadly, my beautiful drums were in the fire too… Only thing to do now is to rebuild & stay positive.”
The musician has subsequently launched an appeal on the GoFundMe.com website, asking well-wishers to help him get back on his feet.
Blood, Sweat & Tears, who during their almost 50 year music career have worked with the likes of James Taylor, the Rolling Stones, and Billie Holiday, continue their North American tour on Friday (02Sep16) in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In his Facebook post Dylan did not indicate whether he would still be able to join the group on tour.
