Blue stars climb tower for charity

Blue stars Duncan James and Lee Ryan put their fitness levels to the test in the name of charity by racing up the stairs of a London skyscraper on Tuesday (04Mar14). The pair competed in the challenge to climb the 920 steps of Tower 42 to raise money for homelessness charity Shelter alongside 1,300 other racers.
James crossed the finish line 41 seconds ahead of his bandmate, reaching the top of the landmark in eight minutes and 31 seconds.
He says, “Obviously I’m chuffed to bits (happy) that I beat Lee to the top, but I’m also delighted that by taking part in such a great challenge, I can help Shelter to give homeless families the advice and support they need.”
The stunt pulled in an estimated $800,000 (£500,000) for the organisation.
