Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna dies

Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna has died, aged 70.
The screen star and politician passed away on Thursday morning (27Apr17) at a hospital in Mumbai, India after a battle with bladder cancer, according to the Hindustan Times. He had been admitted to the facility earlier this month for severe dehydration.
Khanna was widely seen in India as one of Bollywood’s most handsome leading men, and he often played heroes in action and romance movies. He appeared in more than 100 films during his career, which began in 1968 and went on to include films such as Imtihan, Mere Apne, Dayavan, Godfather, and his last credit, Dilwale, in 2015.
He was also a politician and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 1997. The following year, he was elected to represent the Gurdaspur constituency in Parliament for the first time and he was elected three more times and held the position when he died. He also previously served as union minister for culture and tourism and Minister of State for the ministry of external affairs (MEA).
Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, paid tribute on Twitter, writing, “Heartfelt condolences on. the passing away of Shri Vinod Khanna, a highly talented and acclaimed actor & MP.”
Khanna was married to Geetanjali between 1971 and 1985 and they had two sons, Rahul and Akshaye, who are both actors. He married Kavita in 1990 and they are parents to son Sakshi and daughter Shraddha.
