Bollywood stars Chopra and Kaif have properties raided by tax officials

The pair has become two of biggest names in Bollywood in recent years, but their financial dealings have come under scrutiny by the country’s income tax department.

Tax department director-general D.P. Gaur confirmed on Monday (24Jan11) that properties belonging to the actresses were “being searched and whatever materials are procured will be recorded for further action”.

The representative refused to go into further detail about the reasons for the investigation, adding, “We don’t discuss these things but all I can say is that raids are on.”
