Bosnian actor Nazif Mujic dies at 48

Bosnian actor Nazif Mujic has died at the age of 48.
The winner of the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the 2013 Berlin Film Festival reportedly passed away on Sunday (18Feb18) in Tuzla Canton, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Mujic is best known for portraying himself in An Episode in the Life of an Iron Picker. The film centred on Mujic’s fight for medical care following his wife’s miscarriage.
Nazif had only one acting credit to his name and sold his Silver Bear award after he fell on hard times. He will reportedly be laid to rest on Wednesday (21Feb18).
“The Berlin International Film Festival was deeply saddened to hear of the death of Nazif Mujic, who passed away on February 18, 2018,” a spokeswoman for the festival says.
Meanwhile in 2014, Mujic relocated his family to Germany and applied for permission to make Berlin their home. He returned to Bosnia in 2014 after his efforts were denied by immigration officials.
