Boston Marathon survivor’s story to get movie treatment

Movie producers have acquired the rights to develop the story of a Boston Marathon bombing survivor for the big screen. Jeff Bauman’s autobiography, Stronger, will be adapted into a movie thanks to bosses at Lionsgate.
The book recalls his near-death experience during last year’s (13) attacks at the annual sports event, as a bomb exploded at the finish line while he was waiting for his girlfriend to complete the race.
The 28 year old subsequently lost both of his legs, and a photo of him moments after the blast being carried away in a wheelchair became one of the most memorable images in the aftermath of the atrocity.
Playwright John Pollono, who wrote and co-starred in the Off-Broadway play Small Engine Repair, will pen the script.
