British actress Liz Dawn undergoes heart surgery

Veteran British actress Liz Dawn is recovering in hospital after undergoing an operation to have a pacemaker implanted. The 73-year-old former soap star, who played Vera Duckworth on Coronation Street, had the surgery at the Wythenshawe Hospital in Manchester, England.
The procedure comes after Dawn suffered a heart attack in May (13).
A source close to the actress tells Britain’s The Sun, “Liz has had the operation and is doing well.”
Dawn, who also has lung disease emphysema, retired in 2008 due to health problems and her Coronation Street character was killed off by heart failure.
