Britney Spears Really Wants The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Britney Spears is appealing to National Football League bosses to invite her to perform at the Super Bowl in 2017, insisting she’s game to play the Halftime Show.

The Womanizer singer has emerged as bookmakers’ favourite to headline the 2017 spectacular after Adele recently revealed she’d turned down an offer to perform, and Britney admits she’s ready – as long as she has someone else to share the big stage with.

“I would probably do that,” she tells the BBC. “I would have to have a little support group, another artist of course. I don’t think you would ever do the Super Bowl alone. That would be kind of scary.”

The pop star previously appeared on the Super Bowl stage in 2001 alongside Aerosmith, Nelly, Mary J. Blige, and her then-boyfriend Justin Timberlake with his group NSYNC.

This year (16), Coldplay headlined the Halftime Show with a little help from Beyonce and Bruno Mars, while Katy Perry shared the Super Bowl stage with Missy Elliott and Mars teamed up with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2015.
