Broadway lights to be dimmed in honour of Shirley Herz

The bright lights of Broadway will be dimmed on Wednesday (14Aug13) in tribute to theatrical press agent Shirley Herz, who died on Sunday (11Aug13). Herz passed away at the age of 87 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York following complications arising from a stroke she suffered last month (Jul13).
During her nearly 65-year career, Herz publicised hundreds of Broadway and off-Broadway productions, earning her a special Tony Award in 2009, and in recognition of her efforts, the lights of The Great White Way will go dark for one minute at 8pm local time on Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News.
