Brolin to lead Oldboy remake for Lee

Smith was first attached to the project, a reworked version of Chan-wook Park’s classic 2003 film, when Steven Spielberg was rumoured to be making the movie in 2008, but now director and leading man have changed, according to Deadline.com.

Ironically, Brolin has just completed work on the new Men in Black sequel, which stars Smith.

In the original high-octane, ultra-violent movie, Min-sik Cho played a newly-released kidnap victim on the hunt for the man who held him captive for 15 years.
