Bruce Springsteen releases special vinyl for Record Store Day

Bruce Springsteen has released a live album for Record Store Day in the U.K.
The rocker’s recording of his Hammersmith Odeon concert in London on 18 November, 1975, was in high demand on its first-ever release on Saturday (22Apr17).
The show marked Springsteen and the E Street Band’s first concert outside of the U.S. in the wake of the release of Born to Run and the Boss’ appearance on the covers of Newsweek and Time magazine.
Only 3,000 copies were on sale in the U.K., as part of the annual event that promotes independent music stores.
Bruce has long been a supporter of the initiative, and has previously released singles and remastered editions of his first seven albums for Columbia records to mark past Record Store Days.
However, it’s the release of his special vinyl that is causing hysteria among his fans, and it has reportedly already appeared on eBay for as vinyl gold.
Springsteen has been busy recently, and his vinyl release for Record Store Day comes days after the release of his new track, That’s What Makes Us Great, in which he takes aim at U.S. President Donald Trump.
The Born in the U.S.A. hitmaker teamed up with frequent collaborator Joe Grushecky to record the track, which Grushecky wrote in January (17), following Trump’s inauguration. The title references Trump’s campaign slogan: ‘Make America Great Again’.
In the song, Springsteen hits out at the controversial leader for “lying” to the public.
“Don’t tell me a lie/And sell it as a fact/I’ve been down that road before/And I ain’t going back,” he sings. “And don’t you brag to me/That you never read a book/I never put my faith/In a con man and his crooks.”
