Bruce Springsteen’s Western Stars film to debut during Toronto Film Festival

Bruce Springsteen’s upcoming film Western Stars is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada in September (19).
Directed by the singer’s longtime collaborator Thom Zimny, the movie features The Boss performing songs from his latest album of the same name.
Springsteen discussed the film during a sit down with Dave Marsh and Jim Rotolo on SiriusXM’s E Street Radio earlier this month (19).
“We made a film of the Western Stars album, where I play the record start to finish, along with some other things.” he shared, “‘Cause we weren’t going to tour… so I was looking for a way to get some of the music live to the audience, and so we figured that was the best way to do it.”
The 69 year old isn’t the only musician to be the subject of a film at the festival – Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and The Band is set to debut as part the the annual event’s opening night celebration.
The Toronto Film Festival will run from 5 to 15 September (19).
