Bruce Weber has addressed sexual harassment allegations after a male model sued him last year (17).
In a lawsuit filed in New York last December, Jason Boyce claimed the fashion photographer sexually harassed him during a photoshoot which took place at Weber’s Manhattan studio in 2014.
The model alleges Weber pressured him to remove his clothes, rub his own genitals and then touch the photographer, and claimed his agent Jason Kanner, who is also named in the suit, insisted he needed to impress the revered snapper.
In a statement posted on Weber’s social media pages on Wednesday (03Jan18), the photographer denied the allegations and thanked his supporters.
“I unequivocally deny these charges and will vigorously defend myself. I have spent my career capturing the human spirit through photographs and am confident that, in due time, the truth will prevail,” he wrote, adding, “I am grateful for the outpouring of support I have received.”
After Boyce filed his lawsuit, in which he claimed he suffered “humiliation, emotional anguish and lost economic opportunities” as a result of the photographer’s action, a second male model, Mark Ricketson, has also come forward with similar historic allegations against Weber.
However, model Andrew Ashton came to the photographer’s defense last month, telling editors at Page Six that he was “nothing but professional” when they worked together.
And the fashion favorite received support from pal, Vogue creative director at large Grace Coddington, who was heavily criticized after she added a photo of her and Weber to Instagram recently.
