Bruno Mars has congratulated rapper Lil Nas X after his Old Town Road hit became the latest track to beat Uptown Funk’s run at number one on the U.S. chart.
Lil Nas X’s tune landed a 15th week on top of the Billboard Hot 100 on Monday (15Jul19) breaking a tie for 14 weeks with Bruno and Mark Ronson’s 2015 hit.
And good sport took Bruno to Twitter on Tuesday (16Jul19) to congratulate the rap star, writing: “Congrats @LilNasX! That’s awesome,” alongside a champagne glass emoji.
Lil Nas X’s song is now just one week shy of tying the longest number run ever, which is shared by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s Despacito and Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s One Sweet Day.
