Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams denies involvement in Lil Wayne bus shooting

Hip-hop mogul BRYAN ‘BIRDMAN’ WILLIAMS has denied allegations suggesting he was involved in the April (15) shooting of LIL WAYNE’s tour bus, insisting he still considers his estranged protege his “son”.
The rappers have been locked in a longstanding feud ever since Wayne filed a $51 million (£31.88 million) suit against Williams, accusing his Cash Money Records boss of failing to pay royalties allegedly owed to him for his long-delayed album, Tha Carter V.
Wayne, who is also demanding he be released from his contract, was reportedly targeted as his tour bus was sprayed with bullets following a club appearance in Atlanta, Georgia in April (15), and earlier this month (Jul15), legal documents suggested the gunman indicted for the incident, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey, had called Williams immediately after the shooting.
Williams has not been charged with any crime related to the incident, but now he has spoken out to clear his name.
During an interview with New York radio host Angie Martinez, he says, “(That’s) the craziest s**t I ever heard in my life.
“Any n**ga gonna bust a gun at Lil Wayne, I got a problem with that… I’d rather a n**ga pop at me than pop at my child (sic).”
Williams goes on to suggest he is willing to do anything to settle Wayne’s lawsuit to make the Lollipop hitmaker happy, because he was hurt when the rapper started lashing out at the mogul online.
He adds, “You never thought Wayne would be saying nothing negative about me in no lifetime. I never thought that could ever happen – for that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me. I love my son. He mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life (sic).”
