Burberry reteams with Elton John for Christmas 2016

Burberry bosses have teamed up with Elton John on a box set of vinyl records.
The luxury English fashion house has a longstanding relationship with Elton, so it was a natural choice for the Christopher Bailey-led label to partner with the musician on limited edition box designs for the holiday season.
Elton hand selected six of his classic albums to get the Burberry treatment: Elton John, 17-11-70, Madman Across the Water, Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy, Too Low for Zero and Songs from the West Coast.
The new collection marks the first time Elton’s 2001 album Songs from the West Coast has been released on vinyl.
Each box is individually numbered and embossed with Elton’s signature gold lettering.
“I have a long history with Christopher Bailey, and I’ve enjoyed doing things for Burberry in the past,” Elton said, according to WWD. “They make a lot of my clothes and I like them because they’re a very music-orientated company; they do a lot of things to help promote young acts, which I try to do with my Apple Beats 1 radio show Rocket Hour.
“Burberry always seems to be supporting new acts. They always try to give young, new artists a helping hand and I love that.”
The boxes carry a price tag of $375 (£307), and will be available through Burberry’s retail channels from 1 November (16) as part of its 2016 holiday campaign.
It will be the second consecutive year Elton has teamed up with Burberry for Christmas, after he appeared in the luxury label’s Billy Elliot-themed holiday campaign in 2015, alongside TV host James Corden, Naomi Campbell and David and Victoria Beckham’s son Romeo.
Julie Waters, James Bay, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, George Ezra, Michelle Dockery also featured.
