Burt Reynolds ‘Deeply Saddened’ by Jim Nabors’ Death

Actor Burt Reynolds has expressed his deep sorrow over the death of his “great friend” and co-star Jim Nabors.

The 87-year-old, who portrayed Gomer Pyle on beloved TV favorite The Andy Griffith Show and his subsequent spin-off sitcom, passed away in Hawaii on Wednesday night (29Nov17).

Reynolds recruited the late star to work alongside him in a handful of films, including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Cannonball Run II in the 1980s, while Nabors also made his stage debut in a 1990 production of The Music Man at his pal’s former Dinner Theatre venue in Florida.
