Busy Philipps posed in her underwear to show daughters different side of beauty

Busy Philipps signed on to front lingerie firm Aerie’s latest campaign for her daughters.

The actress and TV host has shared a lengthy Instagram post explaining her decision to pose in her underwear for the label, alongside British actress Jameela Jamil and The Handmaid’s Tale star Samira Wiley, revealing her own beliefs align with Aeire’s philosophy.

“I cannot explain to you what an honour it is to join @aerie as an #AerieREAL Role Model,” she began her post, alongside one of the campaign images. “Since 2014, Aerie has committed to using NO RETOUCHING on their models and the brand has been a champion for body positivity and inclusiveness. @aerie is about empowering women and girls by showing images of real unretouched bodies.

“I know for a fact I want my daughters to grow up in a world where they know and understand that true beauty comes from the inside out and true beauty doesn’t ever look just one way. The more we can have images out in the world that reflect that to us, the more that will become our reality.”

Busy, who has 10-year-old Birdie and Cricket, five, with her screenwriter spouse Marc Silverstein, went on to detail how she has wasted “so much time” hating her stomach over the years, but she has finally come to accept it.

“I wish I hadn’t been sold the lie that to achieve true happiness I needed a flat tummy and no hips so I could look like a model in an ad,” the star said.

As well as showing off her toned body in the campaign images, the 39-year-old also has her distinctive moles on full display.
