Calvin Harris and Sam Smith hold off Kanye West to top U.K. singles chart

Calvin Harris and Sam Smith’s track Promises has seen off a challenge from Kanye West’s new release to stay on top of the U.K. singles chart.
Promises remains at number one on Friday’s (14Sep18) Official Charts Company rundown, just ahead of Benny Blanco, Khalid and Halsey’s Eastside at two.
Kanye’s collaboration with Lil Pump, I Love It, debuts at three, while Loud Luxury’s Body and Tyga and Offset’s Taste round out the top five.
Eminem’s surprise collection Kamikaze spends a second week on top of the albums chart, just ahead of the soundtrack to the movie musical The Greatest Showman, which rises to two – nine months after its initial release.
The highest new entry is Paul McCartney’s Egypt Station, which debuts at three.
Down to four is the cast recording for Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, while Ariana Grande’s Sweetener falls to five.
