Can bunnies roar, too?

Underlining the fact that Playboy has, from the beginning, contained provocative material to read as well as look at, the magazine said Wednesday that it plans to produce several major motion pictures based on fictional stories that first appeared on its pages. “There’s an enormous treasure trove of material [for screenplays] in decades of Playboys,” magazine spokesman Bill Farley told today’s (Thursday) New York Post. The newspaper observed that numerous stories that originally appeared as short stories in Playboy have already been made into motion pictures, including The Fly, Fahrenheit 451, and Steven Spielberg‘s first effort, Duel. Playboy will be partnered in the film projects with Larry Kasanoff’s Threshold Entertainment, the Post said.
