Carlos PenaVega credits Dancing with the Stars with strengthening marriage

Actor/singer Carlos PenaVega has reached a whole new level of trust with his wife Alexa PenaVega after both competing on U.S. TV talent show Dancing with the Stars.
The Big Time Rush star came in fourth place after he was eliminated from the ballroom dancing competition’s finals on Monday night (23Nov15), despite earning perfect scores with professional partner Witney Carson for their Foxtrot and Freestyle routines.
Alexa and her partner Mark Ballas exited the show earlier this month (Nov15), and even though neither of them won, Carlos insists the TV experience was worth it as it’s done wonders for their marriage.
“Surprisingly, it’s strengthened it,” he tells U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America. “There’s such a trust we had to have with each other doing this show. I mean, we’re dancing with our partners, some dances like the Rumba can be kind of sexual, you don’t know what’s going on, but we had to build that trust and strengthen it and man, our marriage is so strong right now, I’m so thankful.”
The couple will celebrate its second wedding anniversary in January (16).
Bindi Irwin, the actress daughter of late wildlife enthusiast Steve Irwin, was crowned the winner of Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday night (24Nov15), beating Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter to lift the coveted mirrorball trophy with professional dancer Derek Hough.
