Carlos Santana calls for changes in U.S. gun laws following Las Vegas tragedy

Carlos Santana has urged U.S politicians to overhaul gun laws to prevent another mass shooting.
Like many people, the guitar great was appalled and horrified by the deadly events at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas – and he has called for immediate action.
“The laws need to be changed to prevent this from ever happening again,” Santana said in a statement on Monday (02Oct17).
Santana is currently performing a residency of shows at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay – the hotel gunman Stephen Paddock used as a base while he shot at his victims, killing 59 people and injuring more than 500.
“Why allow weapons of mass destruction to be sold to civilians? The laws need to be changed to prevent this from ever happening again,” Santana continued.
“To everyone that lost loved ones, we stand with you. To those of you who are wounded and hurt, we stand by you. Our heart is in shock. Our minds are filled with questions… Brutality is pure ignorance. Compassion is the highest quality of pristine divinity. My heart goes out to all of those affected by this senseless tragedy. We all need to come together at this time and be ‘one’. We send our collective prayers, light and love to the families and the wounded.”
