Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted film PSA for Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign

Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen and boyband The Wanted have joined forces with U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama to launch her third annual Move Your Body initiative as part of her Let’s Move campaign against childhood obesity. Rapper/actress Eve, Disney stars Bella Thorne and Blake Michael, American Idol singer Jessica Sanchez, hip-hop group Mindless Behavior and gossip blogger Perez Hilton are also among the celebrities featured in the new Move Your Body public service announcement (PSA).
The clip is set to the tune of Beyonce’s song of the same name, a reworking of her hit Get Me Bodied, encouraging kids to get on their feet and get exercising.
The Wanted’s Siva Kaneswaran opens the PSA by calling out to fans, “Hey, you there!” before a variety of fellow stars urge kids to get up and get dancing, saying: “Are you ready? Show me what you got! Don’t just stand there on the wall. Move your body. What are you waiting for? Get Up, lift your feet off the floor! Everybody up. Let’s get this party started!… Let’s move!”
They then show off their moves as they practice the fun workout routine Beyonce demonstrated in her Move Your Body video, which was first used for the Let’s Move initiative in 2011.
Flash workout sessions to the same catchy track will be held simultaneously in Los Angeles and New York on 1st May (13) as more than 250,000 children take part across 600 U.S. schools. Surprise celebrity hosts are also expected to get involved in the event.
The fitness campaign and dance event are both supported by premium water brand WAT-AAH!, which is targeted at kids and teens in an effort to promote a healthier lifestyle.
