Carole King auctioning personal piano

Beloved songwriter Carole King’s piano is set to hit the auction block next month (Apr18).
The 1924 model ‘M’ Steinway piano, which King used to compose songs like Been to Canaan and Sweet Seasons, will be sold as part of The Exceptional Sale at Christie’s on 20 April in New York City.
It is expected to fetch between $40,000 (GBP29,000) and $60,000 (GBP43,400), according to Rolling Stone.
In a new video promoting the auction, Chilina Kennedy, the actress who plays King in the Broadway musical Beautiful, says, “She (King) really is the embodiment of that 1960s and 70s movement of collaboration. I think it’s nice to be reminded of a time when it was about the we and about travelling together and making a sound that belonged to all of us and not just one person. I think that’s when the best art is made.
“She truly was a natural woman… and I think women need those kinds of role models today, now more than ever.”
