The hit Broadway musical about singer/songwriter Carole King’s life and career is to close in October (19).
Beautiful: The Carole King Musical has been a staple on the New York stage for almost six years, picking up two Tony Awards, including one for lead actress Jessie Mueller.
The production will close having played 2,418 regular performances and 60 previews, becoming the highest-grossing show ever at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Beautiful still has a life off Broadway – the show is touring North America and there are productions on stages around the world, while Tom Hanks is developing a film adaptation.
