Carrie Coon taking over The Sinner from Jessica Biel

Actress Carrie Coon is heading back to TV to take over from Jessica Biel as the female lead in hit show The Sinner.

The 2017 crime drama had been developed as a one-off six-part show, but its success led USA network executives to greenlight a second season, turning it into an anthology series.

The Sinner will now focus on Bill Pullman’s character, Detective Harry Ambrose, as he investigates a new crime each season, and Avengers: Infinity War star Coon will join the cast for the next run.
She previously graced the small screen in The Leftovers and in season three of the Fargo TV adaptation, which aired last year (17).

Actresses Natalie Paul and Hannah Gross have also been added to line-up of The Sinner, with season two chronicling the events following the murder of two parents by their 11-year-old son.
Biel will remain partially involved in the project, reprising her behind-the-scenes role as an executive producer.
