Carrie Underwood furious after Nashville Predators denied ice hockey title win

Carrie Underwood tweeted her outrage after her husband’s hockey team were “robbed” in a game which meant they missed out on a chance to clinch two titles.

The singer, who has been married to ice hockey player Mike Fisher since 2010, watched her husband’s team go up against the Florida Panthers in a game that ended in controversy on Tuesday night (03Apr18). The Nashville Predators missed out on a final goal in the last 0.6 seconds when officials declared goaltender interference and disallowed it, which prompted Carrie to take to Twitter and vent her fury.

“Goaltender interference? Are you out of your mind? On what planet?” she wrote. “Biggest pile of (poop emoji) ever! Preds we’re (sic) straight up robbed.”

“I am seriously livid. @NHL , fix this,” the 35-year-old added, before reposting angry tweets from other Twitter users protesting against the National Hockey League’s decision.

The Nashville squad shared their disapproval on their own Twitter account and insisted “We 100 percent disagree with the call,” meanwhile Mike was in agreement with his wife’s furious posts, and responded “If there’s one thing I’ve learned it’s you’re always right (laughing face emoji).”

Canadian actor Kiefer Sutherland also voiced his disappointment in the controversial call.
“Dear @nhl I love you and I always will but @PredsNHL were robbed tonight,” wrote the Pompeii star, which Carrie also retweeted.

The game ended 2-1 to the Panthers, and as a result of the loss, the Predators have lost out on the Central Division and Western Conference titles.
