Cars 2 races to the top of the U.S. box office

Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake’s new comedy Bad Teacher premiered at number two with an impressive $31 million (£19.3 million) and Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern, which earned the first place opening last week (18-19Jun11), fell to the third spot with $18.4 million (£11.5 million).

The new top five is rounded out by Super 8 and Mr. Popper’s Penguins.
