Cary Elwes joins Black Christmas remake

The Princess Bride star Cary Elwes will lead the cast of the Black Christmas remake.
The horror movie has become a cult classic since its release in 1974 and now Elwes and bosses at Blumhouse Productions are introducing the slasher film to a new generation.
Elwes joins a cast featuring Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, and Brittany O’Grady, while Sophia Takal is set to direct the movie from a script she co-wrote.
Filming begins later this summer in New Zealand and the new Black Christmas will be released in December (19), marking the 45th anniversary of the release of the original, which starred Olivia Hussey and Margot Kidder as students hunted down by a killer, portrayed by Nick Mancuso.
