Casey Affleck to Star in Alfonso Cuaron’s TV Series

Casey Affleck is reportedly set to star in Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming television series.

The Oscar-winning actor will headline and produce the Mexican director’s next project, said to be a drama-horror, according to Deadline.

While details about the concept are scarce, the program will apparently track the origins of a cult, with Cuaron writing, directing and acting as an executive producer.

The show is being shopped around at a variety of networks and streaming services, and is reported to be garnering interest from a number of executives.

Should the show be picked up, it will mark Affleck’s first real foray into television, though he is playing the role of Meriwether Lewis in TV miniseries Lewis and Clark, which is yet to air.

The 42-year-old will next be seen on the silver screen in Old Man and the Gun opposite Robert Redford, as well as in Light of My Life, which he has written and directed.

Cuaron, who helmed films such as Gravity and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, worked in TV when he co-created NBC drama Believe.
