Casey Kasem’s children reject settlement offer from wife

U.S. radio personality Casey Kasem’s children have rejected a settlement from his wife to drop their bid for a conservatorship if she agrees to certain stipulations. Kerri, Julie and Mike Kasem have been embroiled in a battle with Jean Kasem for months, accusing her of banning them from visiting their ailing father.
Julie filed papers last month (Oct13) to become her father’s conservator, which would put her in charge of his medical needs, but Jean countered the legal action with her own filing, insisting she should be the one making all the decisions because she is his primary caregiver.
A judge refused to issue the order to either side and instead called for an independent review of the 81 year old’s health records.
Jean is now looking to settle the dispute by offering the children time with their father as long as it is separate supervised visits every third Sunday of the month for one hour. They would also be allowed to see him on major holidays and if he is hospitalised, they will be notified – but the kids have refused the offer, according to TMZ.com.
Casey is suffering from advanced Parkinson’s disease and early onset dementia and only has a few months to live, according to Jean.
