CBS, as befits the second-highest-rated TV network, is the second most stable network. CBS has announced that it will air seven new shows this coming fall, two more than top-rated NBC, The Associated Press reports.
The seven new shows–five dramas and two comedies–for the fall primetime slate are, in airtime order:
Sunday night’s new comedy Bram and Alice, starring Alfred Molina and Traylor Howard, is about an incorrigible author and a devoted fan who are shocked to learn they are father and daughter.
The comedy Still Standing, which will broadcast Mondays at 9:30 p.m., is about a blue-collar Chicago husband and wife trying to keep their youth.
CSI: Miami, a spin-off of the highly successful CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, will star David Caruso (NYPD Blue) and air Monday nights at 10:00 p.m.
Wednesday night’s new medical drama Presidio Med features an ensemble cast including Blythe Danner, Dana Delany and Oded Fehr.
An FBI crime drama, Without a Trace, airs Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m.
Hack is a redemption story about a cop (David Morse) who fell from grace and is now working as a taxi driver. (Fridays at 9:00 p.m.)
Another crime drama, this time set in the robbery and homicide division in the LAPD (called RHD/LA), will air following Hack.
Some of the notable cancellations from last year’s slate include The Education of Max Bickford, Family Law and First Monday.
Last year’s midseason replacement Baby Bob is once again listed as a midseason replacement for this year.
